Is it possible to resolve a generic class?

Jan 8, 2013 at 9:06 AM

I'm new to IoC, and just managed to get Portable IoC working in my solution, but very quickly ran into a problem.

I'm trying to share a Portable Class Library between a WPF app and a Windows Store App and have several dependencies in my ViewModel that are generic (the Interface is declared a a generic). How do I resolve such dependencies?

I've tried making both a generic and a concrete implementation of the interface in the hosting app, but I cannot get it resolved (the same way as I resolve non-generic interfaces)

Hi! Thanks for asking, and apologies for the delay in getting back to you - for some reason I wasn't receiving notifications.

Can you show me a snippet of how you want it to work, or what is not working? What is an example of the ideal way you would resolve the type and I can work backwards from there. Let me know!

Looking back I have managed to do what I intended (and I suspect the reason I ran into trouble is related more to WinRT than to Portable IoC

But thanks for taking the time to replay
